Trash Pony's Science + the Underlying Order of Things: Amanda Simson - Fuel Cells and Other Ways to Get 'Off the Grid"

Become one with your Nerdy self . . .
Join us as we present the first of many Trash Pony's Science + the Underlying Order of Things nights, where we ask super smart people, better known as Scientist, to present fascinating information on intriguing topics.

On January 30, 2011 from 7p-9p we begin with Amanda Simson who will speak about Fuel cells and other ways to get 'off the grid'.
Amanda is a Phd student in Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University, researching hydrogen production from biofuels for the purpose of running fuel cells. She received a bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and after working on rockets for both NASA and Boeing she spent three years teaching middle school math (in Miami and NYC). Despite working in the Combustion and Catalysis lab at Columbia she deems it worth the hour commute to live in Brooklyn.
Amanda & two of her friends; Tara and Matt co-founded of FredTalks.org

A percentage of the night's bar will go towards the Darfur Stoves Project:
